About

I am a working mum of two boys with a passion for food. I cook and bake with love for my family and my friends since ever. I love all sorts of food, cooking and baking, from all cultures. Food tells you so much about people, their culture and their society. It is so nice to join pleasure of eating with learning experience.

Since I moved to New Zealand, I spend more time cooking and baking in my kitchen to remember the best of my home country, its food and gastronomy culture. As a French with Italian origins, food has been part of my life forever. As a child, I learned from both my grannies. At home, Sunday lunch was always special. My parents would spend all morning cooking something with heart and we would all sit together and share lunch in the dinning room. The rest of the week, we had lunch and dinners in the kitchen. I would always help; my role was often to make the dessert: iles flottantes, choux, pies and other mousses. Sunday lunch was so special.
Then, as an autonomous student, I applied what I've learned since my childhood and further developed my passion for food. My friends were my best tasters.

Later, I caught a man with my cooking skills. He gave me two beautiful, but noisy, boys who seem to love food, as well. My No. 1, 4 years-old, who has an obsession for dinosaurs, eats anything I would prepare including seafood and any veggies (even green beans, celery, eggplants, spinach). He is always keen to assist me in the kitchen. My No. 2, not yet one, just started solid food in completion to the breast, and I can already see that he is enjoying it very much, including a range of veggies, meat and fish - all home-made. It is in my lifestyle to make fresh meals for my children. I feel it is part of my duty to educate their taste by providing them with a wide range of food options since the very beginning of their long-lasting relationship with food.

New Zealand is a fantastic country to raise children. And there is no problem to provide yummy and healthy food to our children as you can easily find good quality products. The biggest challenge so far for me is to conciliate this lifestyle with my work. But I'm sure I'm not the only mum or parent in New Zealand working full-time and wanting the best for her children. So where are you? Come on and join me on this blog or on my Facebook page.
On this blog, I want to share an experience, just my experience as a working mum who self-committed to provide the best and most interesting food to her children - and don't omit, for the greatest joy of daddy ;)
